Materials: MetalPigment

Actually, the metalPigment material groups several materials only differenced by the color pattern. For more precission, metal pigment materials behave like metals, but you can change the color pattern by specifying one of the supported pigments. The best news about pigments is that they are easily extensible using C# or any other .NET language.

In this image, we show a metallic sphere with a gradient pigment (from dark orange in the bottom to gold in the top), while the ground has been modeled with a checker pigment and a metalPigment material:

There's a corresponding pigment material that resembles plastic materials.

Syntax

The syntax for the metalPigment material is identical to the syntax of metal, except that, instead of a color, you must supply a pigment object:

The pigment parameter that plays the role of a color in the pigment material is just an instance of one of these four predefined classes:

These pigment classes are defined along with the pigment material, in the corresponding help topic.
